Vincent Enyeama set to make thrilling comeback for Nigerian National team at AFCON tournament
Vincent Enyeama, the former goalkeeper for the Nigerian National team, is set to make a comeback as the team prepares for the AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast. Enyeama retired from international duties in 2015 after a dispute with the Nigerian Football Federation, but is now joining Jose Peserio’s team in their training camp in the United Arab Emirates. The 41-year-old goalkeeper played over a hundred games for the Super Eagles before leaving the team at the age of 33, citing mistreatment and lack of respect. Since then, Enyeama has distanced himself from the team and has not been watching their games. However, with concerns about the goalkeeping section of the Super Eagles in recent years, Enyeama’s return is seen as a potential solution. The AFCON tournament is set to begin in twelve days, and Enyeama’s comment on the Super Eagles’ official Instagram account indicates his readiness to get back into action.
