In a groundbreaking spectacle, Nigeria’s globetrotting Afrobeats sensation, Rema, reached unprecedented heights at his “Ravage Uprising” concert held at London’s iconic 02 Arena on November 14, 2023.
With a sold-out crowd of 20,000 eagerly awaiting his performance, Rema made a dramatic entrance. Clad in a mask and black ensemble, he appeared atop a stationary horse while delivering a mesmerizing rendition of his latest hit, “DND.”
The show continued to soar as Rema transitioned into a captivating performance of “Iron Man,” accompanied by Indian dance choreographers on either side of him.
Before taking the stage, Rema paid homage to Burna Boy, acknowledging his role in bringing him up on that very stage in 2021. Expressing gratitude and wishing Burna Boy could be present to share the moment, Rema poignantly stated, “Today it’s my turn to conquer that same stage, and I wish you were here to share this moment with me. Regardless, I’m grateful for the motivation. With love, Rema.”
As the concert progressed, Rema elevated the experience further by performing atop a giant stationary bat during the second phase. In the third phase, the arena transformed into a Rema party.
The Jonzing World star delighted his fans with spirited performances of numerous hits, including “Dirty,” “Ginger Me,” “Addicted,” “Why,” “Dimension,” “Soundgasm,” “Fame,” “HOV,” “Trouble Maker,” “Lady,” “Don’t Leave,” “Dumebi,” “Bounce,” and “Charm” from his extensive catalogue of songs.
A truly magical moment unfolded when Ayra Starr, Crayon, and Magixx, Rema’s fellow Mavin Records signees, joined him on stage to perform “Won Da Mo.” This heartwarming collaboration resonated deeply with Nigerian fans who have closely followed the journey of each member of the record label. The performance attracted over 38,000 viewers on the YouTube livestream.
To conclude the night on an unforgettable note, Rema delivered a sensational rendition of his chart-topping hit, “Calm Down.”
This remarkable achievement further solidifies Afrobeats’ prominent position in the global music scene.
