Nigerians Must Seek Permission to Use National Anthem
The Federal Government has urged Nigerians to obtain formal approval before using the national anthem to prevent potential misuse or misinterpretation.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lanre Issa-Onilu, stressed the importance of seeking permission from the agency before using the anthem or its lyrics.
“As custodians of Nigeria’s national symbols, the NOA is responsible for preventing any form of misuse. Permission must be sought from the agency to avoid misrepresentation,” the statement partially read.
Issa-Onilu also announced that sensitisation campaigns will soon be conducted across the 36 states of the federation to explain the agency’s new policies and guidelines.
