NIGERIA – Presidential Plan to Boost Youth Empowerment and Grow the Economy🇳🇬

I think the media team of President Tinubu has been reactive instead of proactive, relying on responses to political opponents like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, which seems to have become part of their work schedule. Meanwhile, the government has set up several schemes to boost productivity and grow the economy. Join me as we explore the different platforms the government has established.

1. Student Loan Scheme

I have always been an advocate of setting up a loan scheme where students can access funds for their education. During my university days, I saw how many of my colleagues dropped out of school because they couldn’t afford fees. By visiting nelf.gov.ng, students can apply for loans to fund their education, irrespective of family or social status.

2. Consumer Credit Corporation

This program is aimed at helping people who primarily need household items but cannot immediately afford them. They can acquire these items and pay later. By visiting credicorp.ng, you can access this service. I think it’s a good option for people who are trying to settle into life.

3. Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Initiative

This initiative is to subsidize the cost of converting vehicles to CNG compliance. The government aims to have 1 million CNG vehicles by the end of 2027. By registering, you stand a chance of getting your vehicle converted at no cost. Access via pci.gov.ng.

4. Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDiCE) Program

This program offers courses with certification, teaching various ICT and entrepreneurial skills. You can access the site at boi.ng/idice.

5. Skill-Up Artisans Programme (SUPA)

Available at supa.itf.gov.ng, SUPA offers training programs for artisans, focusing on upgrading their skills and licensing them to practice across various fields like construction, automotive, and manufacturing.

6. National Youth Talent Export Programme (NATEP)

With a vision of creating 1 million jobs, this initiative aims to showcase the talents of Nigerians to the international community and foster collaboration. Visit natep.gov.ng for more information.

7. Nano-Business Support

The scheme seeks to train and support small-scale businesses in Nigeria, helping them grow through training and mentoring, and also offers funding. Check out tucnigeria.org.ng for details.

8. Nigerian Youth Academy (NIYA)

Through niya.ng, NIYA offers training and mentorship programs for youth, with the goal of building leadership skills, fostering civic engagement, and creating pathways to entrepreneurship and employment.

9. NDDC Internship Scheme for Niger Delta Youth

Available at nyis.nddc.gov.ng, this program targets youth in the Niger Delta region, offering internship opportunities that provide work experience, skill development, and potential job placement in various industries.

Each of these programs is part of the Federal Government’s strategy to stimulate economic growth, empower youth, and address socio-economic challenges. Public reception is mixed, however, due to skepticism about effective implementation.
