Meet Derick Nwasor, The Nigerian Engineer Turning Water Into Power and Oxygen🇳🇬

When light goes out in a hospital, lives are at stake.

For Nigerian engineer Derick Nwasor, that reality hit home during a hospital experience. He watched power cuts and oxygen shortages put patient care on hold. Nigeria has over 40,000 hospitals and most face 8-10 hours of daily power cuts. The backup? Expensive diesel, oxygen delivery trucks, and reliance on third-party plants.

Derick decide to build a different solution: “just add water”💦

It’s a machine that literally makes electricity and oxygen from water. No diesel⛽️. No delivery trucks🚚. No waiting on outside oxygen plants🏭. Just water in, power and life-saving oxygen out.

For hospitals across #Nigeria, this could change everything. Reliable power for operating theatres, ICU machines, and emergency wards. On-site oxygen for patients who can’t wait. Lower costs. Fewer emissions. More lives saved.

Derick’s invention is proof that Nigerian innovation isn’t waiting for the problem to be solved somewhere else. We’re building the solutions right here, from our own experiences.

When one person turns pain into purpose, an entire system can shift. “Just Add Water” might just be the future of healthcare energy in Nigeria.

Derick turned a hospital challenge into a machine that powers and heals.
