Hilda Bassey Effiong, a Nigerian Chef has surpassed the current Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon. The cook-a-thon began on May 11, and ended on May, 14, featured a live-streamed show on social media channels where Hilda made over 250 recipes.

The restaurateur began the competition on Thursday after she turned on her cooker at 4PM and surpassed the current world record holder on Monday morning.

Hilda’s cooking competition is currently ongoing at Amore Gardens in Lekki, Lagos State.

She has successfully done more than 70 hours of the day non-stop Cook-A-Thon, en route to setting a new record in kitchen endurance. She has cooked over 110 meals and served over 2,795 people in about 70 hours, hitting significant milestones.

She has been getting support from family members, friends, Nigerian celebrities, cheering her on continuously so that she can have strength to continue.
