The African Union has launched the Africa Credit Rating Agency (AfRCA), an initiative aimed at addressing challenges surrounding credit ratings and improving Africa’s access to finance.
The launch was announced in a post by the African Union on LinkedIn, highlighting the importance of credit ratings in determining how countries access financing and the cost of borrowing.
According to the African Union, while other emerging regions average around a BB credit rating, Africa’s average rating remains a concern, with implications for the continent’s ability to attract investment and secure affordable financing.
