Two innovative projects in Nigeria and Ethiopia have received major funding from Save the Children to improve children’s immunization. The projects were selected from 120 submissions and will receive technical and financial support, including a grant of almost $100,000 each.
The Two Winning Projects:
- The Centre for Integrated Health Programs (CIHP) in Nigeria has developed a social and behavior change model to address caregiver-driven vaccine hesitancy. They’ll work with Lagos State to identify and address challenges to low immunization uptake in urban slums.
- HABTech Solutions PLC in Ethiopia has created a digital innovation using data analytics and visualization to enhance decision-making and address zero-dose immunization challenges. They’ll identify hard-to-reach communities, track vaccine shortages, and ensure precise mapping and identification of zero-dose children.
These innovations will be piloted in conjunction with vaccination programs run by Save the Children and GSK in Ethiopia and Nigeria. The goal is to create a world where no child suffers from a vaccine-preventable disease, and every child’s health is protected.
