It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Mr. Akintola Williams, a true luminary, today at the remarkable age of 104.

Mr. Williams, CFR, OFR, CBE, leaves behind an indelible mark on our club and the wider world.

Mr. Williams was not only a past President and Trustee of our esteemed club but also a cherished member for an astounding 64 years.

Just recently, we celebrated his 104th birthday at the club’s Tuesday lunch, where he graciously accepted the warm toast from all present.

His pioneering role in the field of Accounting in Nigeria was nothing short of extraordinary. His contributions paved the way for the development of Nigeria’s economy and brought global recognition to the ICAN professional body.

Mr. Williams’ impeccable taste, style, and unwavering sense of propriety left a lasting impression on all our members, especially our younger ones who regarded him as a role model.

We will dearly miss his insightful contributions to our discussions, his convivial nature, and his dedicated involvement in club affairs.

As we bid farewell to a true legend, we pray that the Almighty, whom he served faithfully throughout his life, grants his soul eternal rest.

Additionally, we extend our heartfelt prayers to the Williams family and all well-wishers, asking for the strength to bear this loss.
