The scheduled court appearance of the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, encountered a delay at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja on Thursday.
Despite Emefiele’s presence, the arraignment was unable to proceed due to the absence of the second defendant, Saadat Yaro.
In front of Justice Hamza Muazu, Mohammed Abubakar, legal representative for the Federal Government and Director of Public Prosecution, explained that Mrs. Saadat Yaro fell ill in the morning, leading to her nonattendance.
