Nigeria plans to put in place a cybersecurity framework to confront sophisticated AI-driven cybersecurity attacks that have cost banks, financial institutions, businesses, According to Abdullahi Inuwa, the Director-General of NITDA, companies operating in Nigeria will be required to meet a minimum cybersecurity threshold.
He also noted that many companies are underinvesting in cybersecurity because they assume they are unlikely targets. As AI scales with sophistication, the authorities are tightening cyber defense.
