Breaking News:Manchester United Sack Ruben Amorim After 14 Months

Manchester United has parted ways with head coach Ruben Amorim, just 14 months into his tenure. The decision comes after a 1-1 draw with Leeds United, which sparked tensions between Amorim and the club’s hierarchy. Amorim had expressed frustration, stating he wanted to be recognized as the “manager, not coach” of Manchester United, hinting at disagreements over transfer decisions and tactical authority.

Amorim’s departure leaves Darren Fletcher, the Under-18s coach and former United midfielder, in interim charge for Wednesday’s game against Burnley. The club’s statement thanked Amorim for his contribution, citing a desire for a change to push for a higher Premier League finish.

Amorim’s tenure saw United finish 15th in the 2024/25 season, their worst Premier League finish since relegation in 1974. This season, they’ve improved, currently sitting sixth in the table.
