President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Oritsemeyiwa Amanorisewo Eyesan as the new CEO of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC). Eyesan, a seasoned economist with nearly 33 years of experience at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and its subsidiaries, brings a wealth of knowledge to the role ¹ ² ³.
Eyesan, a graduate of Economics from the University of Benin, retired as Executive Vice President, Upstream, in 2024, and previously served as Group General Manager, Corporate Planning and Strategy at NNPC from 2019 to 2023. Her extensive experience in upstream operations is expected to strengthen oversight and strategic development of Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
This appointment is part of President Tinubu’s efforts to ensure continuity and professional leadership in agencies critical to Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, following the resignations of Engineer Farouk Ahmed
