A new assessment centre backed by British rapper Giggs has officially opened at St James House in Gravesend, Kent.
The centre, developed by OMG Education with support from the Peckham-born artist, has been created to help children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and neurodiverse needs access vital assessments, guidance and tailored support.
The official opening was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by OMG Education Chief Executive Jamal Miah and inclusion specialist Frances Akinde. Giggs, real name Nathaniel Thompson, was unable to attend in person as he is currently overseas.
The opening represents the first phase of a wider, long-term vision for St James House to become a dedicated hub for families and young people. Further facilities are planned to be built on the site, with organisers now seeking additional funds to complete the next stages of the project.
Giggs, who has spoken openly about being autistic and his personal journey seeking support for his own children, said he was “proud and grateful” to see the project come to life and begin helping families who are often faced with long waiting lists and limited support.
The centre is now open and will start working with families across Kent and the surrounding areas.
