His unwavering stance was eloquently conveyed during his address to the ministerial cohort at the distinguished Conference Centre of the State House in Abuja.
In his address, President Tinubu articulated, “While I delegate authority to each of you, it is imperative to recognize the heightened expectations of the majority of Nigerians, who eagerly anticipate adherence to the principles of delivery, transparency, and accountability.
The Nigerian populace rightfully anticipates the exercise of integrity, dignity, and unwavering commitment to fulfill our promises.
I shall vigilantly hold each of you to the exacting standard we collectively pledged to the people of our nation.”
The President further emphasized the cohesive spirit of an exceptional team, expressing confidence in the collective assemblage of talent present.
The esteemed privilege of serving as a minister within the Federal Executive Council, he stated, is matched by the immense responsibility that accompanies it.
Addressing the ministers directly, President Tinubu stated, “Amidst a juncture marked by both great potential and grave challenges, your induction confers upon you the mandate to distinguish yourselves.
Your charge commences forthwith. As your nation confers upon you the honor of this call to duty, the imperative to prove your worth in the eyes of the Divine and our nation’s populace is paramount.”
The President’s message to the ministers extended to the core essence of their duties – the restoration of public faith in governance.
The restoration, he affirmed, would rekindle the belief that capable governance holds the potential to effect transformation and steer the nation collectively towards progress.
In a preceding ceremonial event, 45 ministers assumed their roles within the cabinet.
Notable appointees included former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, who took the mantle as the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Festus Keyamo, who assumed the position of Minister of Aviation.
The diverse array of ministers featured Wale Edun, holding the dual role of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola overseeing Transportation, David Umahi in charge of Works, and Betta Edu responsible for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
