OpenAI has dismissed two researchers over suspected information leaks, as per a source familiar with the matter.Among them is Leopold Aschenbrenner, known for his work on AI safety.
Aschenbrenner was associated with OpenAI’s Chief Scientist, Ilya Sutskever, who was involved in a previous attempt to remove CEO Sam Altman.
The exact nature of the leaked information remains undisclosed.The other researcher, Pavel Izmailov, who focused on reasoning, also had ties to the safety team.
These dismissals mark notable personnel changes since CEO Sam Altman resumed his board position in March.
