The Edo State Sports Commission has postponed the 4th Edo Sports Festival, initially scheduled for April 21st to May 1st, 2025. The decision, made during a management meeting led by Executive Chairman, Dr. Amadin Desmond Enabubble, prioritizes the state’s performance at the upcoming National Sports Festival in Ogun State.
Given the recent success of Edo athletes at the maiden Niger Delta Sports Festival and the proximity of the National Sports Festival, the Commission aims to focus on final preparations for the Ogun games.
The Edo State Sports Festival, designed to discover new talents and prepare athletes for national events, will be rescheduled for 2026 to avoid conflicting schedules. The Commission assures that next year’s event will be planned meticulously to support the state’s athletic development.
