Federal Government Continues Support For Global Creative Economy At Venice Biennale

Federal Government of Nigeria reaffirms its commitment to bolstering the global creative economy through arts and culture, as stated by Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, during the opening of the Nigeria Pavilion at the Venice Biennale.

The Minister highlighted the importance of innovative strategies to attract investment in arts and culture, emphasizing partnerships with private sector entities like MOWAA. Nigeria’s presence at the Biennale showcases the nation’s vibrancy, diversity, and talent, underscoring its dedication to nurturing a flourishing creative economy on a global scale.

Acknowledging the eight Nigerian artists representing the country at the Venice Biennale, Minister Musawa commended their role as cultural ambassadors, noting their works’ engagement with various themes such as identity, democracy, migration, history, and heritage.

The Minister also praised the curator of the Nigeria Pavilion, Ms Aindrea Emelife, for her visionary approach in showcasing Nigeria’s cultural richness to the world. Nigeria’s participation in the Biennale reflects its commitment to promoting artistic excellence and cultural exchange, with notable dignitaries like Governor Godwin Obaseki and Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka in attendance.
