The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has described the ongoing Area Council elections as peaceful across Bwari and other parts of the FCT.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaye, gave the assessment while monitoring the exercise in Bwari Area Council.
Security personnel were deployed early to polling units and other strategic locations across the territory as voting commenced, ensuring adequate protection for voters and electoral officials.
Dantawaye expressed satisfaction with the calm atmosphere observed during the exercise and noted a high level of compliance with electoral guidelines by residents.
He commended officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force for their professionalism and vigilance, adding that their presence contributed significantly to the peaceful conduct of the polls.
The Commissioner also praised residents for conducting themselves responsibly throughout the process.
He assured that security operatives would remain on ground during collation and the announcement of results, urging all stakeholders to sustain the peaceful atmosphere and uphold democratic values.
