We are thrilled to congratulate our distinguished brother, Dr Tom Ilube CBE, on his appointment as the incoming Chair of The Prince’s Trust UK’s Board of Trustees.
Reacting to his appointment, Tom said:

I am incredibly optimistic about the potential of young people in the United Kingdom and am excited about how The Prince’s Trust can help them to fulfil their full potential. John’s leadership has been outstanding. I look forward to building on his achievements.”
Tom is an educational philanthropist and technology entrepreneur, bringing a wealth of experience to the position. He currently serves as Chair of the Rugby Football Union, CEO of Crossword Cybersecurity plc, and Non-Executive Director of WPP plc, the world’s largest advertising group. He has also served on the Board of the BBC.
Tom’s extensive background in education includes founding the African Gifted Foundation, a British charity, and launching the African Science Academy (ASA) in Ghana, the leading science and technology school for girls on the continent.
He is an Honorary Fellow of Jesus College, Oxford, and St Anne’s College, Oxford, and was awarded a CBE in 2018 for his contributions to technology and philanthropy. He holds honorary doctorates from City, University of London; the University of Wolverhampton; the University of Benin, Nigeria; the University of Portsmouth; and Coventry University.
Tom has played a significant role in the education sector, founding and governing multiple schools, including Hammersmith Academy and ADA College, the UK’s National College for Digital Skills.
