In a dazzling display of skill and determination, Kwara State’s Abdulbasit Abdulfatai clinched the Men’s Singles title at the 5th Michael and Felicia Alabi Memorial National Table Tennis Championships. The tournament, held in the historic town of Otan Ayegbaju, Osun State, saw Abdulfatai overpower defending champion Matthew Fabunmi with a convincing 4-0 victory (12-10, 11-4, 11-4, 11-7).
In the Women’s Singles category, fast-rising athlete Hope Udoaka from Cross River State showcased her prowess, defeating veteran Halima Hussain from Oyo State 4-1 (11-5, 11-9, 9-11, 11-7, 11-7) to claim the championship.
The U-15 categories saw Ifeoluwa Ajasa from Lagos triumph, further highlighting the talent and potential of young players in the sport.
