President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet has given the green light to a fresh round of road construction, rehabilitation, and public-private partnership deals across the country.
Briefing State House correspondents after Wednesday’s FEC meeting, Minister of State for Works Bello Goronyo said the council reviewed about 15 memoranda, seven of them from the Ministry of Works, covering major road projects and highway/trailer park concessions.
Among the approvals: reconstruction of the Ado-Ekiti, Iyin, Aramoko; Itawure; Osun border road in Ekiti State, alongside several PPP concessions designed to draw private capital into Nigeria’s transport infrastructure.
The move builds on the administration’s ongoing infrastructure push, following earlier this year’s multi-trillion-naira road approvals across the country.
