Reliable Electricity Saves Lives: Nigeria Moves to Power Health Facilities

The Federal Government is strengthening efforts to provide reliable electricity to healthcare facilities across Nigeria through the Nigeria Power for Health Initiative (NPHI).

At a recent NPHI meeting, key financing and institutional frameworks were approved to accelerate the delivery of dependable electricity to hospitals and other health facilities across the country.

Reliable power is essential to healthcare delivery. It enables hospitals to operate critical medical equipment, preserve vaccines and medicines, provide emergency services, and deliver quality healthcare around the clock.

With the approval of these frameworks, the focus now shifts to implementation and ensuring that the initiative produces visible and measurable results for Nigerians.

The government says it will continue working with relevant stakeholders to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and improve access to dependable electricity, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

Reliable electricity is more than infrastructure; it is a critical part of saving lives and improving healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
