Akani Simbine Breaks Usain Bolt’s Record: 11 Consecutive Years Under 10 Seconds

During the recent Golden Grand Prix in #Botswana on April 12, Simbine blazed through the track, clocking in at an impressive 9.90 seconds. This achievement marks his 11th season achieving this feat, putting him ahead of Bolt, who achieved it 10 times during his illustrious career.

Simbine, 31, boasts a bronze medal from the 2025 World Indoor Championships. In comparison, the 38-year-old Bolt is a powerhouse in the sprinting world, clinching eight #Olympic gold medals and holding three world records: 9.58 seconds in the 100m, 19.19 in the 200m, and 36.84 in the 4x100m relay as part of the Jamaican team.
