IMF Managing Director Establishes Advisory Council On Entrepreneurship And Growth With Nigeria’s Tony Elumelu As A Council Member

IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva has established an Advisory Council on Entrepreneurship and Growth, comprising prominent individuals from various fields.

The council’s primary goal is to identify policies that promote entrepreneurship, productivity, and private sector-led economic growth.

The council members include:

  • Professor Ufuk Akcigit, University of Chicago
  • HRH Ambassador Reema Bandar Al-Saud, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the US
  • Mr. Marc Benioff, Salesforce Chair, CEO, and Co-Founder
  • Ms. Ana Botín, Banco Santander Executive Chair
  • Mr. Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Tata Group Chairman
  • Ms. Margherita Della Valle, Vodafone Group Chief Executive
  • Mr. Tony O. Elumelu, Heirs Holdings Founder and Chairman
  • Mr. Robert Smith, Vista Equity Partners Founder, Chairman, and CEO
  • Mr. Federico Sturzenegger, Argentine Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation

The council will meet quarterly to discuss ways to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and productivity.

Their discussions will inform the IMF’s policy research and analytical agenda, aiming to support stronger economic growth across its 191 member countries.
