Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has taken decisive action to enhance the safety of residents and their properties.
He has urgently directed the establishment of a State Security Trust Fund, appointing a five-member committee to swiftly develop the necessary modalities.
The governor emphasized a public-private partnership model for the fund, fostering collaboration with corporate entities, business communities, industrialists, and key stakeholders. The fund’s primary purpose is to provide material and logistic support for security operatives within the state.
To address security challenges effectively, the committee, inclusive of members from security services, will work towards practical solutions.
The organized private sector will also play a crucial role, contributing to the establishment of a lasting public-private partnership approach to address the resource needs of security institutions.
Governor Adeleke expressed appreciation for the dedicated efforts of security operatives in safeguarding lives and property, highlighting recent discussions with the Inspector General of Police in Abuja to strengthen the state’s security through close collaboration.
