Nigerian Passport Fees to Increase Starting September 2024

The Nigerian government, under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, has announced an increase in passport fees to maintain the quality and integrity of the travel document. The new fees, effective September 1, 2024, will see the 32-page passport booklet with a 5-year validity rise from N35,000 to N50,000, while the 64-page booklet with a 10-year validity will increase from N70,000 to N100,000.

According to a statement by the Nigeria Immigration Service spokesperson, DCI K.T. Udo, the fees for Nigerians in the diaspora remain unchanged. The government assures citizens of its commitment to transparency and quality service delivery despite the increase.

The new fees are as follows:

  • 32-page passport booklet (5-year validity): N50,000 (previously N35,000)
  • 64-page passport booklet (10-year validity): N100,000 (previously N70,000)

The Nigeria Immigration Service regrets any inconvenience caused by the increase and encourages applicants to take note of the new fees.
