Kaduna Protesters Face Uncertain Future as 26 are Remanded in Prison

Twenty-six protesters were remanded in prison in Kaduna, Nigeria, after being arrested during the #EndBadGovernance demonstration. The protesters were charged with various offenses, including criminal conspiracy and inciting disturbance. The magistrate court ordered their remand in a correctional facility after they failed to meet their bail conditions.

In addition to the initial arrests, the police detained 39 more suspects, including a tailor accused of sewing Russian flags for the protesters. The police alleged that the suspects were involved in vandalizing private and public properties and recovered 38 Russian flags and one Chinese flag.

The Kaduna State Police Command has assured that they will continue to maintain order and enforce the curfew imposed to quell the protests. However, the protesters’ fate remains uncertain, leaving their families and friends worried about their future.

The #EndBadGovernance movement is a call for better governance and an end to corruption in Nigeria. Despite the arrests and detentions, the protesters’ voices continue to echo, demanding change and accountability from the government. The situation highlights the ongoing struggle for justice and reform in Nigeria, where citizens are fighting for their rights and freedoms.
