Kafilat Araoye is currently the Managing Director and CEO at Lotus Bank since 2020
Kafilat holds a history degree from the University of Ife and an M.Sc. in Industrial Relations & Personnel Management from the University of Lagos. She holds Islamic Finance certifications and has attended executive management courses at various institutions. Kafilat is certified in specialized banking courses, conferences, and seminars.
Kafilat a 25-year banking veteran, began her career in 1988 at Conoil Nigeria Plc and later worked at Guaranty Trust Bank Plc. She was part of the GTBank team that implemented its core banking application in Jordan. Kafilat has expertise in international and domestic operations, payments, general management, business development, risk management, and strategy.
Kafilat has served on various committees, including the Central Bank of Nigeria, International Chamber of Commerce, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, and the Advocacy & Strategy Committee. She has also served on the governing boards of several institutions, including Fountain University Oshogbo, Crescent Schools, Victoria Island, City of Knowledge Academy, and Al Muhtudeen Islamic Foundation.
