Dangote Petroleum Refinery Commences Fuel Production, Boosting Nigeria’s Energy Self-Sufficiency

Lagos, Nigeria – In a milestone achievement, Dangote Petroleum Refinery, Africa’s largest oil refinery, has begun fuel production, marking a significant stride towards Nigeria’s self-sufficiency in fuel production and reduced reliance on imports.

The 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery, situated in Lekki, Lagos, will meet Nigeria’s fuel demands and generate surplus for export, creating a new revenue stream for the country. The refinery will produce a diverse range of fuel types, including petrol, diesel, jet fuel, and kerosene, catering to various market needs and ensuring a steady supply of high-quality fuel products.

This development is a testament to Aliko Dangote’s vision and commitment to Nigeria’s economic growth, creating jobs, stimulating local economic activity, and enhancing the country’s energy security. With Dangote’s refinery operational, Nigeria is poised to transform its energy landscape, becoming a net exporter of fuel and solidifying its position as a key player in the global oil industry.
