The initiative brings together tech giants like AWS, Apple, Google, and Microsoft to tackle AI-driven cyber threats.
The mission is to secure critical software using Anthropic’s Claude Mythos Preview AI model, which can detect and exploit software vulnerabilities better than most humans. The partners include Amazon Web Services (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Broadcom (AVGO), Cisco (CSCO), CrowdStrike (CRWD), Google (GOOGL), JPMorganChase (JPM), Linux Foundation, Microsoft (MSFT), Nvidia (NVDA), and Palo Alto Networks (PANW).
Mythos Preview has already found thousands of high-severity vulnerabilities in major operating systems and web browsers. This could be a game-changer for defensive cybersecurity. Anthropic is committing $100M in usage credits and $4M in donations to open-source security organizations.
This move has boosted stocks of cybersecurity firms like CrowdStrike (6.2% jump) and Palo Alto Networks (4.9% jump). Analysts see this as a validation of the industry’s potential to counter AI-driven threats.
