The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to set aside internal differences and embrace unity as the party intensifies its
reconciliation efforts.
Wike made this appeal during the party’s 108th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, stressing the importance of cohesion in strengthening the PDP ahead of future political engagements.
Addressing party stakeholders, the FCT Minister urged the newly inaugurated leadership to sustain ongoing reconciliation initiatives by reaching out to aggrieved members, including those who have defected. He emphasized that meaningful engagement and inclusiveness are critical to restoring trust within the party.
Reaffirming his commitment, Wike assured members that principles of justice, fairness, and equity would guide party decisions. He also pledged his continued loyalty and support to the PDP despite prevailing challenges.
Similarly, the Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, called on former members to return to the party, describing the PDP as open and accommodating. He cited the party’s recent electronic registration exercise as a demonstration of its resilience and enduring grassroots appeal.
Moro maintained that the PDP remains Nigeria’s foremost opposition party, capable of repositioning itself for future electoral success.
The 108th NEC meeting comes at a critical juncture, as the party seeks to rebuild internal unity, restore confidence among its members, and strengthen its position in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
