This wasn’t a semifinal. It was a statement. Spain dominated France from the first minute to the last and won 2-0 with room to spare. Tactically, technically, and physically, Spain were levels above.
The tone was set early. Yamal, still just a teenager, drew a reckless foul in the box midway through the first half. Oyarzabal stepped up and buried the penalty to put Spain 1-0 up.
In the 58th minute, Pedro Porro scored to double their lead and kill the game. They even thought they had a third through Yamal, but it was disallowed.
France never showed up. Digne and Doué both had nights to forget, and the whole defense looked lost.
Spain are through to the final, where they’ll meet the winner of England vs Argentina tomorrow.
