‘I am Nigerian’

I too am a Nigerian and when listening to this speech I instantly felt the urge to draw what I was hearing.
Hakeem Kae-Kazim painted such a beautiful and relatable image in my mind of what being Nigerian meant to Hakeem.
I started off by drawing the Hakeem Kae-Kazim, I used abstract techniques to make Hakeem appear animated as he was in the speech. I then surrounded Hakeem with a few of the things he mentioned to connote the achievements Nigerians have made over the years.
Being such an empowering speech I wanted to make sure I created a powerful image to match that could be understood by all.
