Air Peace Begins Direct Flight To UK

After a six-year pause, Nigerian carrier Air Peace reactivates the bilateral air service agreement between Nigeria and the UK, inaugurating a direct flight route to London Gatwick.

Air Peace’s maiden flight to London marks a significant milestone in Nigerian aviation history, with government support. Three ministers were present to commemorate the occasion.

British Airways and Virgin Atlantic have been flying the very lucrative route. The Nigeria-London route sees renewed competition and reduced fares with Air Peace’s entry, offering relief to travelers enduring long layovers and high costs.

Government pledges to facilitate the success of indigenous carriers like Air Peace, emphasizing benefits such as currency stability and improved accessibility for international travelers.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Air Peace Airlines, Allen Onyema
highlighted the airline’s robust domestic and international operations, underscoring its commitment to providing efficient, affordable, and reliable air travel services.

As Air Peace ventures into the UK market, expectations are high for enhanced connectivity, economic growth, and a brighter future for Nigeria’s aviation industry.
