Nollywood Star Adesua Etomi on the cover of Vogue
Award-winning Nigerian actress Adesua Etomi Wellington is one of the four women on the cover of American Vogue magazine’s April issue. The latest issue celebrated 14 talented women from across the world. These included: Golshifteh Farahani; Liv Lisa Fries; Eiza Gonzalez; Hera Hilmar; ScarlettJohansson; Vanessa Kirby; Bruna Marquezine; Deepika Padukone; Alba Rohrwacher; Lea Seydoux; Doona Bae; Elizabeth Debicki; and Angela Babyct.
Adesua wore a flowing opera coat and floral dress by Richard Quinn, makeup by Otito Ibeleme and was photographed by Mikael Jansson, Vogue, April 2019.
She is married to actor, musician and politician, Banky Wellington. Born in Nigeria and raised in England, she went to school in Coventry and studied drama at University of Wolverhampton. She worked at the fashion arm of a supermarket chain. Adesua then decided to move to Nigeria in late 2012.
Adesua is passionate about growing Nollywood, Nigeria’s growing film industry. The Nollywood star become one of the biggest stars in the film industry, The Wedding Party (2016), a colorful and witty romantic comedy she played opposite her husband, Wellington, one of the highest-grossing film in Nollywood history, alongside its sequel, which also starred Etomi-Wellington. Adesua has been in three out of the best four Nollywood films.
