LBS Hosts UK Prime Minister David Cameron on Trade Mission to Nigeria

He said this today in a speech he delivered at Lagos Business School, Pan-African University to the Executive
Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido
Sanusi, Nigerian business leaders, faculty, staff and alumni of LBS.

Cameron expressed that both governments can work together to make the most of the opportunities available
to “make this the African moment”. He said the three things needed for economic progress were aid, trade and
political reforms.

He said: “This is a time for the whole of Africa to meet the aspirations of its people. A time when aid, trade and
democracy can come together to offer a new future for Africa and its people.”

Commenting on the ways African technology entrepreneurs are creating jobs and wealth across the continent,
the Prime Minister expressed his belief that with the new generation of political and business leaders there was
the opportunity to use trade to transform the lives of Africans like never before.
