CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI FINAL PREVIEW 2013

All my predictions came true for the quarterfinals. We are going to be treated to 2 football master classes for the semi-finals.

Barcelona vs Bayern Munich

Both teams got through difficult matches with Barcelona scraping through on the away goals rule against PSG. Bayern Munich clinically dispatched Juventus. They do say it is not over till the fat lady sings. Sorry i couldn’t resist!

Barcelona will feel they have a new lease on life and will learn from their mistakes. This is going to be a tight 2 legged affair. Bayern Munich still has last year’s defeat to Chelsea on their minds. Can Arjen Robben show up? He is a match winner any day.

Verdict: Barcelona to get through to the final and win the trophy again

Real Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund

Real Madrid was eventual winners over Galatasary and the match was evenly contested and the score line does not reflect this. Christiano Ronaldo was pivotal in that match and will be needed to help Real Madrid to the finals. My heart goes out to Malaga who ran Borussia Dortmund close and would have gone through if the score had remained the same with 4 minutes to go.

The English dominance in the champion’s league is waning with all 3 teams not making it through to the quarterfinals (Man city, Man united or Chelsea). 2 German teams and 2 Spanish teams in the last four says it all. The best 4 teams got through to the semi finals

Verdict: Real Madrid to make it through to the finals. Only just… it is going to be tight!
