Cadbury Nigeria Plc Appoints Oyeyimika Adeboye First Female MD In Over 50 Years
Mrs. Oyeyimika Adeboye has been appointed Managing Director, Executive Director of Cadbury Nigeria PLC effective April 1, 2019.
Mrs. Adeboye is the first woman to be appointed Managing Director since the establishment of Cadbury Nigeria over five decades ago and takes over from Amir Shamsi, who moves on to a new role within Mondelēz International, the parent company of Cadbury Nigeria.
She will stop serving as Finance Director, Executive Director of the Company as of April 1, 2019. Mrs Adeboye joined the Board of Cadbury Nigeria Plc as Finance and Strategy Director in November 2008. Prior to joining the Board. Mrs. Adeboye was the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Finance of Nigerian Bottling Company Plc. She had previously worked for the Nigeria Accounting Practice of Arthur Andersen & Co and the United Kingdom Accounting Practice of Midgley Snelling & Co, Chartered Accountants.
Mrs. Adeboye has an impressive track record in finance, strategy and business administration both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Nigeria.
Mrs. Adeboye has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Accounting from the University of Wales College of Cardiff (UWCC).
Mrs. Adeboye is a member of the Board of Cadbury Ghana Limited and also sits on the Board of The Timothy Adeola Odutola Foundation. She is Member of the Executive Management Committee, and Member of the Risk Assessment Committee of the Company. She was Member of the Audit Committee of the Company until October 19, 2016.
